Motherwell star earns 'absolutely fantastic' praise with pundit pinpointing 'confidence flowing through' Steelman in Hibs draw

Motherwell striker Tony Watt's finish on Saturday pointed towards a man full of belief in his top form, according to Michael Stewart.

The 27-year-old made it nine league goals for the Premiership season with a fabulous half-volley to secure a point against Hibs.

A 1-1 draw at Easter Road maintains the Steelmen's place in the top five and they are closing in on Hearts and Dundee United, who sit third and fourth.

Watt has been a key player for Graham Alexander' side this season and is the league's top scorer.

Former Hearts midfielder Stewart reckons his goal showed that the striker is operating at an elite level.

He said on Sportscene: "In the first half in particular, Motherwell had a few chances to get themselves in front. Hibs ultimately did, and then Motherwell got the goal back.

"It deflects to Watt on the edge of the box and that finish is absolutely fantastic.

"It shows you the confidence that is flowing through Tony Watt at the moment. He gets into the right areas, his timing is on point.

"That is a great finish and there was nothing Hibs goalkeeper Matt Macey could do about that."
