Motherwell set to sign goalkeeper Scott Fox after Partick Thistle exit

Motherwell are set to make their second summer signing with the capture of goalkeeper Scott Fox.

According to reports, the 32-year-old, who activated a relegation release clause to leave Partick Thistle earlier this month, is in talks with the Steelmen to seal a one-year deal.

The former Ross County star will be aiming to push his way into the starting line-up and dislodge current Fir Park No. 1 Trevor Carson.

It's understood Premiership rivals Kilmarnock were also chasing the former Celtic youth player.

Motherwell already have young shot-stopper Rohan Ferguson on their books and PJ Morrison has been offered the chance to extend his stay by gaffer Stephen Robinson.

Should Fox complete his move to Lanarkshire, he could join fellow new recruit Ricki Lamie for the club's first training session of pre-season on Monday.

The Steelmen are due to return to light training following the easing of lockdown restrictions by the Scottish Government, which allows top flight teams to get back to action.
