Motherwell's Stephen Robinson in the running for SFWA manager of the year prize

Motherwell gaffer Stephen Robinson has been shortlisted for the manager of the year prize at this year's Scottish Football Writers' Association awards.

The Northern Irishman will be up against his fellow countryman and Celtic gaffer Neil Lennon, who led Celtic to a ninth league title in a row, Livingston boss Gary Holt and Dick Campbell, manager of Championship surprise package Arbroath.

Robinson led the Steelmen to a third place finish in the Scottish Premiership and a Europa League place this season.

Motherwell midfielder Allan Campbell has made the Young Player of the Year shortlist alongside Aberdeen midfielder Lewis Ferguson,Hearts full-back Aaron Hickey and St Johnstone midfielder Ali McCann.

Meanwhile, Celtic duo Odsonne Edouard and Callum McGregor, as well as Dundee United's 29-goal hitman Lawrence Shankland and Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos made the four-man shortlist for the Player of the Year prize.

The SFWA decided to go ahead with their awards despite the season being called early and the winners are expected to be announced in the written media over the next fortnight.
