Motherwell's Dynamic Gymnasts do well at Scottish Championships, qualify for bigger tournaments

Motherwell’s Dynamic Gymnastics Club enjoyed major success at the Scottish NDP Championships at their home venue of Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility earlier this month.

The club emerged from the weekend competition on March 9 and 10 with Scottish champions, medal winners, and athletes who will represent Scotland at the British final and inter-regional finals.

NDP Scottish medallists were:

IDP WP gold: Hayleigh Patterson and Gemma Russell.

Youth WG silver: Evie Wise, Sophie Blood and Bethany Carlyle.

Grade 2 WP silver: Deryn Zengin and Romia Lawlor.

Grade 3 WP gold: Bethany Cruickshanks and Skye Wilkie.

Grade 3 WP bronze: Keia Crawford, Lily McNab and Anna Cruickshanks.

Grade 4 WG silver: Lucia Lawlor, Millie Simmons and Amiya Dwornik.

Grade 5 WP gold: Emma Logan and Isla Russell.

All gold medallists are going to represent Scotland in the British Championships at Stoke-on-Trent in May.

The other medallists will represent Scotland at the Inter-Regional Championships in Southampton, also in May.

FIG medallists:

12-18 WG (3 gold): Amy Miller, Keeley Higgins and Mia Evans.

12-18 WP (3 gold): Emma McConville and Emma McConnell.

11-16 WG (2 gold): Karla Hillcoat, Sacha Horne and Arianna Lawlor.

11-16 WP (gold and silver): Carly Curran and Neive Grant.

Home Nation gymnasts representing Scotland in Perth on April 6-7 are: Artistic: Kennedi Foster, Milli De O’Hara, Courtney Dunbar. Reserves: Jessica Wright and Niamh Llewellyn.

Acrobatic: Emma McConville, Emma McConnell, Karla Hillcoat, Sacha Horne, Arianna Lawlor, Hayleigh Patterson, Gemma Russell. Reserves: Evie Wise, Sophie Blood and Bethany Carlyle.

Dynamic Gymnastic coaches Sarah Scott and Michelle Diniz are part of the coaching team, and they are the only club who have gymnasts in both disciplines.

Also recently, at the Artistic British Championships in Liverpool, Dynamic Gymnastics had Kennedi Foster finish 10th overall, while Ellie Patrick was 15th overall in her first senior competition.

Dynamic Gymnastics are always looking for sponsorship for their talented gymnasts – Courtney Dunbar is sponsored by Penny Cars in Airdrie – and they can be emailed at enquiries@dynamicgymnastics.co.uk
