Motherwell's 1991 Scottish Cup final triumph to be aired this weekend

For Motherwell fans wondering how to pass the time during the football shutdown, there's some essential viewing coming your way this weekend.

The BBC Scotland channel will be airing a re-run of the 1991 Scottish Cup final against Dundee United on Sunday evening.

Motherwell's now famous 4-3 triumph in extra-time can be relived in all its glory at 7.15pm

Under the stewardship of Tommy McLean, a Davie Cooper inspired Motherwell came out on top in a thrilling encounter in front of almost 60,000 fans at Hampden.

The Steelmen were 3-1 up before United clawed it back to 3-3 to force an additional 30 minutes, in which Stevie Kirk netted the winner four minutes into the first-half of extra-time.

It has gone down as one of the all-time classic finals and Motherwell fans can watch it all over again - and introduce young fans to one of the greatest days in the club's history.

The Scottish Cup classic highlights shows kick-off tonight with the 2012 Edinburgh derby cup final between Hearts and Hibs, airing at 7pm.
