Motherwell one of Scotland's most romantic places according to new research

Motherwell has been named in the top 10 of Scotland’s most romantic places according to new research.

The town was placed eighth in the survey which also saw near neighbours Hamilton and Bellshill being the first and second least romantic places in the country

The figures were compiled by Lovehoney - the UK’s biggest sexual wellness brand - from spending stats on couples’ sexy gift buying in the build-up to Valentine’s.

Lovehoney spokesperson, product director Bonny Hall, said: “Couples in Hamilton are the least romantic in Scotland - spending less on each other than anywhere else in Scotland in the build-up to Valentine’s.

“Couples that play together, stay together.

“The key to sexual happiness is to be bold and adventurous, especially around Valentine’s Day.”

Kirkcaldy in Fife was named Scotland’s most romantic place.
