Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson makes Mark O'Hara transfer vow as he heaps praise on midfield star

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson has said he will do 'everything in his power' to keep on-loan midfielder Mark O'Hara beyond the end of the season.

Former Kilmarnock man O'Hara joined the Steelmen from Peterborough in the summer, and after a slow start he has established himself as an important player.

The versatile midfielder scored the opening goal in Motherwell 's 4-1 trouncing of Ross County on Wednesday night as they ended a run of six league games without a win and strengthened their grip on third place.

It was an impressive performance from the 24-year-old, and Robinson says he will be doing all he can to keep him at the club long-term.

Robinson said: "For me Mark O'Hara was outstanding.

"If there's any way we can keep Mark O'Hara I'll be doing everything in my power to do that."

It wasn't just O'Hara that impressed as Robinson's side returned to winning ways in style. They dominated the midfield battle with Allan Campbell turning in an industrious display, while Scotland cap Declan Gallagher was back to his imperious best at the back.

All-in it was a solid team performance and Robinson went on: "With Allan Campbell's drive and energy, nothing will stop him trying to achieve. He'll be as high as he possibly can because he puts everything into it.

"I thought maybe the last three or four games our midfield had looked a little bit jaded, a bit tired.

"And they do that because of the amount of energy they put into games. When they play, we play.

"I thought Declan Gallagher was outstanding as well at the back. He looked like a Scottish international.

"People looked to just have their mojo back again."
