Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson hopes for apology over disallowed goal

Furious Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson revealed he hopes to get an apology from referee Andrew Dallas, after the whistler chalked off Bevis Mugabi's first-half goal.

Second-half strikes from Martin Boyle, Christian Doidge and Stephen McGinn consigned the Steelmen to defeat against Hibernian, however Robinson was left reeling by Dallas' decision to penalise Mark O'Hara for an aerial challenge after it looked like they'd broken the deadlock.

The gaffer said. "Obviously the scoreline is disappointing, key moments didn't go for us in the game.

"The disallowed goal changes the whole game though.

"Hopefully I'll get an apology from the referee for the mistake.

"I don't think that's the reason we lost, but it certainly changes the course of the game if we go in at half-time at 1-0.

"Hibs are a very good side, with a lot of very good forward players, but it means they have to come out and chase the game and that leaves us to expose them at the back. But they didn't have to do that."

Robinson was also left frustrated by his side's defending, although believes the scoreline wasn't a far reflection of the game.

He added: "We didn't defend well enough in the one-versus-one situations, especially against good players like Martin Boyle.

"We had chances, Tony (Watt) has two great chances, we hit the post and have a goal disallowed.

"So it's a hard one to take today.

"I'm the first one to come out and say we could be better, but today we got punished for errors and their quality up top told."
