A Motherwell music festival celebrating local music and talent went ahead online this year.
Motherwell Makes Music is organised by Derek Watson, but it had to ditch the stage for the camera as they moved to a live streamed event due to Covid regulations.
The event took place on YouTube on Sunday, December 20 at 7pm.
Organiser Derek said: “It’s a shame we had to go online this year but totally understandable given the current situation.
“We streamed it live on YouTube and had a donation link set up for people to donate, if they were able, to support the charity Help Musicians.
“It’s a difficult time for many and lots in the arts haven’t had work in many months so I wanted to give back and support these folks in some way.”
The event showcased a wide range of acts, both local and some from further afield.
The headliner was Ross Leighton from Kilmarnock band Fatherson, and other names included Luna The Professor and Connor Fyfe.
Prior to the event, Derek said: “This year we’ve got some wonderful talent, Fatherson who have played all over the world, Bayview from London and even inframellow from Livorno in Italy.
“If you look at the artists on the bill, Luna from Wishaw, Connor Fyfe from Bellshill and Tommy McGuire from Motherwell are all there.
“Not only are they excellent local musicians but they are gaining a reputation all across the country.”
Headliner Ross Leighton was one of the artists looking forward to the stream.
He said: “I always like doing events that Derek puts on, he is very passionate about what he does.”
