Motherwell man admits possession of drugs and theft from home in Motherwell

A man admitted stealing from a home in Motherwell and possessing Class A drugs.

Jamie Nisbet pleaded guilty to taking a mobile phone and a tablet from the property in Wood Crescent on August 17.

On the same date, in Cousington Road, Nisbet, of Cornelia Street, Motherwell, was found in possession of heroin.

Nisbet had also been accused of assaulting a woman by punching her on the head.

However, the 29-year-old was cleared of the offence when the case went to trial.

At Hamilton Sheriff Court this week, Sheriff Linda Nicolson opted to defer sentence on Nisbet and called for a range of reports.

The case will next call on November 11.
