Motherwell make season ticket pledge to supporters after SPFL and Sky deal

Motherwell have promised season ticket holders that they will get 19 home league games no matter what.

The Fir Park club have told supporters that the amount of games played behind closed doors will be taken off the price of the season ticket for the following season.

And any Motherwell supporter who chooses not to renew in the 2021/22 season will be able to claim match tickets for the amount of games they missed.

The club will also provide season ticket holders with a streaming site following the SPFL and Sky Sports’ agreement.

That will allow any Premiership games played behind closed doors at Fir Park to be shown to supporters free of charge.

And chief executive Alan Burrows said: “We’re delighted that Sky have agreed to allow us to show our games to fans in Scotland, and across the UK and Ireland.

“Not for the first time, Sky have shown their commitment to Scottish football in helping the clubs with this vitally-important initiative during difficult times.

“This is an important development in ensuring our supporters can watch matches for as long as social distancing measures are in effect.

“We are working through the details of how it will work in practice and will update supporters shortly, but we already have our existing online streaming platform which operates well for our fans based abroad and we hope to make that available for those at home.

“I hope this clarity will provide further incentive to supporters to now buy their season ticket if they can.”

Fans of Stephen Robinson's side have also been promised free entry to the first Europa League game they can attend after Motherwell's qualification.
