Motherwell, Madcap Thrillers and Jobbygate: Lanarkshire Live Sport Podcast #7

Unexpected twists and turns were aplenty this year as Lanarkshire's five SPFL clubs made their way through 2021.

We're near the end of it now, but there's been storylines aplenty in a year full of drama for Airdrie, Albion Rovers, Clyde, Hamilton and Motherwell.

The Steelmen started the year without a manager and a humbling off Accies but end it fourth in the Premiership under boss Graham Alexander.

It's a contrast to Hamilton's fortunes after relegation to the Championship following many years of great survival tales at Scotland's top table. Then there's the infamous 'jobbygate' saga and an ownership shift for good measure.

Airdrie and Clyde have been fighting at opposite ends of League One but both are now looking up after a positive run of festive form.

Albion Rovers meanwhile are steadily building under Brian Reid in League Two and there's an emphasis on building up the next generation in Coatbridge.

It's been a busy year as the Covid pandemic continues to throw up problems for clubs and fans alike, but it's all covered in our 2021 roundup.

MFC Podcast's Andy Ross, Lanarkshire Live's Andy McGilvray, Clyde SLO Dean McKirdy, Diamond TV's Brian Smith and Albion Rovers' Daniel Mossie are our guests for the final Lanarkshire Live Sport Podcast of the year.
