Motherwell legend James McFadden in 'worrying times' claim over bottom of the table scenario

James McFadden reckons Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson doesn’t know where it’s gone wrong for the Steelmen this season and reckons worrying times lie ahead for the club.

The Fir Park legend watched his old side make it nine games without a win last night when Kilmarnock eased past 10-man ‘Well 2-0.

It leaves Motherwell third from bottom and facing a scenario where, if they lose to Hamilton in Saturday’s Lanarkshire derby and other results go against them, they could find themselves bottom of the Premiership.

And appearing on Sportscene last night, when asked how concerned ‘Well fans would be, Faddy said: “I would say very.

“They started strongly, they had good territory, they created half decent chances and from the start of the game they did look like the stronger side, but the worry is, you don’t take your chances and you go a goal down, and there is no reaction.

“There is not a positive reaction so I would say it is worrying because of the league position, because of the form, because chances aren’t being taken and the reaction to going a goal down...Stephen Robinson doesn’t know what’s wrong, you can see it on his face.

“It is worrying times.

“The majority of that squad finished third last season - and they have done well - but they have to try and get back to that.

“At the minute, it seems to be the same old story every week.”

The Steelmen have won just four games in 19 outings this season and last week they had six points revoked, as St Mirren and Killie appeal a decision to award Motherwell 3-0 wins earlier in the season after Covid breaches by the two clubs.

The SFA appeal hearing will be heard on January 14.
