Motherwell goalkeeper Liam Kelly in 'farewell message' after Ross County defeat

Motherwell goalkeeper Liam Kelly has indicated he will not be returning to Fir Park next season after a hugely impressive spell on loan from Queen's Park Rangers.

The 25-year-old joined the Steelmen in January on a deal until the end of the season and has spoken of his desire to stay in Lanarkshire after a series of fine displays for Graham Alexander's side, which have included a number of penalty saves.

However, speaking after Motherwell's 2-1 defeat to Ross County in the final game of the season, the ex-Rangers shot-stopper looks to have played his last game for the club as he thanked everyone for their support and wished them "all the best for the future."

Kelly said on a club social media video: "If I look back on my loan spell at Motherwell it's been brilliant.

"I can't thank everybody enough for my time here and all the support I've received, so thanks very much and all the best for the future."

Kelly made his move to the English Championship in June 2019 and has featured 22 times for the Rs since. He now looks set to return down south.
