Motherwell will have no fans in attendance when they face Rangers at Ibrox next week.
The Fir Park side have now requested special permission from the SPFL to show the game live inside their own stadium to ensure their supporters don't miss out completely.
The club have revealed they have been in dialogue with Rangers and have accepted the Premiership leaders’ reasoning behind the decision.
Rangers say they have no space for an away allocation due to the red zones still in place in Scottish football stadia.
That means they’ve had to move some of their own supporters to the usual away section inside Ibrox.
It was the same when Steven Gerrard’s men hosted Celtic just before the international break and looks likely to continue until the red zone is taken away.
A statement from Motherwell said: "Motherwell fans will not be able to buy tickets for our weekend trip to face Rangers.
"Our opponents have advised us that, due to ongoing restrictions at Ibrox, no away allocation will be sent for Sunday’s match.
"Having initially been declined an allocation, subsequent dialogue led to Rangers providing us with a detailed explanation that, due to the displacement of some supporters due to a Covid “red zone”, an away section is not possible.
"While regrettable that no Motherwell fans can attend, we accept that Covid restrictions have led to an unavoidable situation.
"We have asked the SPFL for permission to instead show the game at our bars at Fir Park, and we are awaiting approval.
"Details on how to buy the match from Rangers on pay-per-view will be made available shortly."
