Motherwell family transform garden into T in the Park for birthday party

A Motherwell family have came up with arguably the best idea in the world by transforming their garden into T in the Park for a birthday party.

Deanna and David Doig decided to throw the bash today for son Devin's 12th birthday considering it falls on the same day the iconic Scottish festival was normally held.

They left no stone unturned to provide the authentic festival feel by erecting a Slam Tent complete with posters featuring a lineup of artists as well as laminates for everyone to wear and a huge yellow sign in their garden which read 'D in the Shum'.

The Doigs even got a bouncy castle for the occasion and set up indoor camping for the kids to enjoy at their house in the Gresham area of Motherwell, nicknamed 'the Shum'.

And the ice cream van even made an appearance to supply cones to the festivalgoers.

Speaking to Glasgow Live about the bash, mum Deanna said: "My three kids have had lockdown birthdays so as it was phase 3 we thought we would mimic a mini garden festival.

"The line up is all the bands we are missing this year. We have indoor camping for the kids. It’s all family so allowed as per phase 3 government guidelines."

Sure around now it's all kicking off in the Slam Tent!
