Motherwell face away trip in Europa League qualifier

Northern Irish opposition stand in Motherwell's way of Europa League progress once again after they were handed a trip to Coleraine in today's second round qualifying draw.

The Steelmen thrashed Northern Irish Premiership side Glentoran 5-1 at Fir Park on Thursday night in the first round and now they face a Coleraine side from the same division, managed by former St Mirren boss Oran Kearney.

Goals from Callum Lang, Stephen O'Donnell, Liam Polworth, Tony Watt and Chris Long sent the Steelmen through, while Coleraine pulled off a shock by knocking out Slovenian side Maribor on penalties.

The tie will be played on Thursday, September 17.

All three of the Scottish sides in Europa League qualifying action were handed away draws, with Rangers travelling to Gibraltar to face Lincoln Red Imps and Aberdeen heading to Norway to face Viking FK.
