Motherwell duo miss Saints clash following Scotland Under-21 Covid chaos

Motherwell duo Allan Campbell and Barry Maguire have been forced out of their line-up against St Johnstone today due to covid-19 protocols.

They both travelled to Greece with the Scotland under-21 squad for a European Championships qualifier in midweek, with three players since testing positive, forcing 11 players and two backroom members to self-isolate.

Motherwell have said they will be looking for answers from the Scottish FA on a 'number of points'.

THe club say that shortly after 11am this morning they were informed by the Scottish FA that Campbell and Maguire were within that group that was to self-isolate.

Both players tested negative when they were tested by Motherwell on their return to Fir Park on Wednesday.

However, the Scottish FA told them that due to seating arrangements on flights and buses in Greece, they are to self-isolate under trace and protect procedures.

In a statement, Motherwell said: "As a result of what has happened, we will write to the Scottish FA on a number of points on which we believe urgent answers are required."
