Motherwell derby hero Mark O'Hara: We owed the fans that one

Mark O'Hara says Motherwell owed their fans a victory over their Lanarkshire derby rivals as his goal ended their Hamilton hoodoo tonight.

The Fir Park midfielder netted with a fine low finish past Kyle Gourlay after 37 minutes to land the Steelmen's first win over their rivals in six attempts.

And giving is immediate reaction, the 25-year-old said: "It's the first time against them I've won.

"I'm absolutely delighted and it's massive three points.

"It's always good to beat Hamilton. It's something we haven't done this season, so we owed that fans that one."

Motherwell are now guaranteed of avoiding automatic relegation and have all but secured their Premiership status.

They now head to the capital on Saturday to face Hibs in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals.
