Motherwell dealt a blow as Wigan set to recall striker

Motherwell are set to be dealt a major blow with reports that Wigan are to recall striker Callum Lang from his loan spell in January.

Lang had signed a season-long loan at Fir Park, but the Latics are reportedly set to exercise their option to recall him early, as they bid to beat the drop from English League One.

Manager John Sheridan wants the 22-year-old to be part of his squad, after club administrators sent Lang out on loan at the start of the summer.

Englishman Lang has scored five times for Motherwell, including in the 3-1 defeat against Rangers, and is an integral part of Stephen Robinson's squad.

He will be available for tonight's match against Aberdeen, and clashes with Dundee United and Kilmarnock, but is likely to be recalled after that.
