Motherwell chief teases fans with transfer deadline day signing hopes

Motherwell chief executive Alan Burrows has told fans the Steelmen will look to add players on transfer deadline day.

It's been a busy window already for the Fir Park side, with four new recruits snapped up since the start of January.

Goalkeeper Liam Kelly, winger Steven Lawless, striker Harry Smith and midfielder Sam Foley have all bolstered the squad, while striker Jordan White has also left the club, moving to join rivals Ross County.

And this morning Burrows has sparked excitement by revealing boss Graham Alexander is looking to bring in more players before the midnight deadline.

He tweeted:

It will be intriguing to see if Motherwell hold on to key players with much talk surrounding the future of skipper Declan Gallagher and defender Stephen O'Donnell.

The Scotland international pairing have both been linked with moves to Celtic during the window, while O'Donnell's short-term contract with the Steelmen has expired, so fans will be expecting an announcement on his future either way over the course of the day.

Asked by a fan on the out of contract stars, Burrows added:
