Motherwell chief executive urges self-isolating fans to reach out as Fir Park shut down

Motherwell chief executive Alan Burrows has called for people in need during self-isolation to reach out for a chat.

Last night the country went into lockdown with Fir Park closed until further notice.

In a statement a spokesperson for Steelmen said: "The club was operating a skeleton staff in recent days but will now immediately shut down, with employees working from home where possible."

With the majority of the UK facing self-isolation in an attempt to limit the outbreak of coronavirus, Burrows called for people to reach out to him on social media.

The Lanarkshire supremo tweeted: "I’m lucky enough to have a lovely family to stay at home with.

"However, I’m totally aware that plenty who will have to self isolate over the next while will be on their own, making it significantly harder.

"If that’s you, or you’re struggling, drop me a message and we can chat!"
