Motherwell chief cleared after missing Rangers star Alfredo Morelos fan rap court case

Motherwell chief executive Alan Burrows has escaped punishment after failing to appear at the trial of a man accused of throwing a hot drink at Alfredo Morelos.

Burrows, 37, is a key witness in the case in which Sean Baillie, 30, denies lobbing the liquid towards the Rangers striker at Fir Park.

He was set to give evidence against Baillie last week but failed to turn up to court, citing work commitments.

A warrant was issued for his arrest but Burrows appeared in the dock at Hamilton Sheriff Court yesterday and was cleared of contempt of court.

His lawyer Kevin McCarron said: “No disrespect was ever intended.”
