Motherwell boss Steven Hammell has urged his players to show the same passion as the fans after they displayed a banner at Fir Park, and hopes it helps them to find form.
The Steelmen travel to Championship side Raith Rovers in the Scottish Cup fifth round, looking for only a second win since October - the last being a 2-0 fourth-round triumph at Arbroath.
Fans attached a sign to the outside wall of the main stand at Fir Park saying 'show some passion for the badge on your shirt' last weekend, after a 3-1 defeat at Aberdeen saw them searching for their first three points since beating Dundee United 1-0 at Tannadice on October 29, and Hammell says he hopes it inspires his stars in front of the 1900 crowd who are travelling to Stark's Park.
"I have no problem with it at all," he said. "We are taking a large following to the game on Saturday again. The travelling support this season has been excellent, and we are very grateful for it.
"Their support means everything to us and it helps us massively.
"There's nothing wrong with the fans wanting a bit of passion and fight from their team.
"I think it was probably on the back of the St Johnstone home game [2-0 defeat last Wednesday], which was miles and miles short of anything we want to be known as or a team we want to be representing this club.
"There was a lot of circumstance behind that, with new signings and the amount of injuries we have picked up, but in terms of the sign itself, absolutely no problem.
"It's something we highlighted to the players earlier in the week. It's a fantastic club to play for, it really is.
"It's a passionate community club, well supported, the fans are passionate, and they want to see that on the pitch.
"It was highlighted to the players and we used it as a positive.
"The fans do and want to get behind us but we also need to give them something to get behind."
Hammell added: "You need to take personal responsibility for your performance levels.
"The information and quality of training and coaching they get during the week, and plans in place for the games is there, it's them translating that and lifting their performance levels to a level that will get us over the line on Saturday.
"I think it's fair enough to say there isn't enough of them performing at the levels that they should be."
An already extensive injury list has been added to from the defeat at Pittodrie last weekend, and Hammell admits he may need to play people out of position.
He said: "The actual numbers we have and the personnel we have is good, but the amount of injuries we have in certain positions is something I have never seen before.
"Even from the weekend there, there are still another couple that could potentially be missing out.
"We are asking players to play out of position, or players who aren't quite ready to play through that for us."
New signings Dan Casey and Calum Butcher could be in line to make their debuts at Kirkcaldy.
