Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson found not guilty of assaulting partner

Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson has today been cleared of assaulting his partner.

At the high court in Edinburgh, the 45-year-old was accused of assaulting Robyn Lauchlan and acting in a threatening or abusive manner towards her in the capital on December 13 last year.

He was found not guilty.

The Northern Irishman denied the claims and Ms Lauchlan had earlier asked prosecutors not to bring charges against him, telling the trial Robinson had been trying to calm her down when she got upset on Waverly Bridge.
