Motherwell bid to tackle suicide issue in the town on global awareness day

Motherwell have plastered posters around the town urging supporters to seek help if they're going through a difficult time.

As part of World Suicide Prevention Day, the club's posters say 'Need to talk? Speak up, speak out' and provide a list of phone numbers for the Samaritans, Chris's House, Calm and Breathing Space, with a link to supporters' group SIWY's social media platforms, who the club appear to have teamed up with.

The poster continues: 'Our club. Our community. Our fans. Here for you.'

An advert the club produced, featuring the voice of boss Graham Alexander, says: "Suicide devastates families and communities.

"In Motherwell we know that all too well. We've lost loved ones. The pain never goes away.

"Help is available. Speak up. Speak out. Be heard.

"This is our club. This is our community."

For those who are going through a difficult time, the Samaritans are on 116 123, Chris's House is on 01236 766755. Calm are on 0800 58 58 58 and Breathing Space is 0800 83 85 87.
