Motherwell and Paddy Power launch missing people campaign with silhouette-filled stand

Motherwell and Paddy Power will fill the south stand at Fir Park with 'missing' fans as part of a new campaign.

Ahead of the first home game of the new season against Dundee United, the stand has been filled with blank cardboard cut-outs.

Over 1000 cutouts have been put in the Lanarkshire ground by the bookmaker in association with charity Missing People to help find missing people.

The silhouette-filled stand will remain in place until fans return to the stadium.

Jo Youle, Chief Executive of Missing People, said: “This is a highly visible and needed opportunity for families in communities across the UK to raise awareness of their missing loved one – at a time when it is so hard to search due to COVID-19 restrictions."

Suzanne Reid, Head of Commercial at Fir Park added: “The club is delighted to support this campaign and the work of Missing People.  We hope the display helps raise awareness of the help that is available from the charity."

Spokesman Paddy Power went on: “We hope this campaign, and striking image, can spark conversations across the country – as the majority of our customer base are young men, the demographic that’s most at risk of going missing.”
