Motherwell and Hamilton's Premier Sports Cup groups revealed

Six Lanarkshire sides have learned who they will face in the season-opening Premier Sports Cup group stages.

Motherwell and Hamilton were both first-seeds for the draw while Airdrie, Clyde, Albion Rovers and East Kilbride were unseeded with all clubs in the South section.

Premiership side Motherwell and League One side Airdrie were drawn together in Group F alongside Queen of the South, Annan Athletic and Queen's Park

Championship side Hamilton and League Two side Albion Rovers were drawn in Group E with Ayr United, Falkirk and Edinburgh City.

Danny Lennon's Clyde and Lowland League side East Kilbride were drawn in Group G alongside Kilmarnock, Morton and Stranraer.

The tournament - which has been rebranded this season after a sponsorship deal with Premier Sports - will get underway on Saturday, July 10.

St Johnstone famously won last year's competition after beating Livingston 1-0 in the final before the Perth side went on to claim a cup double with their Scottish Cup win.
