Motherwell and Hamilton Accies youngster receive Scotland call-ups for Victory Shield

Three Motherwell youngsters and one Hamilton Academical kid have been named in Scotland's Under-16 squad for the Victory Shield.

'Well trio Bailey Rice, Lennon Miller and Max Ross have received call-ups alongside Hamilton Accies man Gabriel Forsyth.

They will all travel to Northern Ireland later this month for the prestigious Victory Shield tournament, which will be played in Belfast.

Stuart McLaren has named nine players from the Scottish FA Performance School programme. Scotland were victorious in the last Victory shield, as they were announced as joint-champions alongside Wales in 2109.

Young midfield Miller, son of East Kilbride start Lee, shot to fame recently when he scored a stunning goal from the halfway line against rivals England.

Scotland kickstart their campaign against Republic of Ireland on Sunday, October 17. McLaren's side then face hosts Northern Ireland before their final fixture against Wales on Friday, October 22.

McLaren's squad is made up of predominately Rangers and Celtic players with Southampton's Cameron Sullivan the only English based player in the group for the Northern Ireland trip.
