Motherwell against Rangers remains on track despite Fir Park tunnel hit by flooding

Motherwell insist there’s no concern over Sunday’s clash with Rangers going ahead - despite chief executive Alan Burrows posting a video of water being pumped out a flooded Fir Park tunnel.

Well’s pitch took a hammering in Wednesday’s 2-2 Premiership draw with St Mirren and more heavy rain is forecast for the area in the next 24 hours.

Burrows posted a video on Twitter of a flooded tunnel area being cleared on Friday afternoon.

But a Motherwell spokesman confirmed there was no concern for the visit of Rangers on Sunday.

And Burrows said on social media: “We’ve had around 30mm of rain over the last few hours, which gave the team a lot of issues on trying to prevent the tunnel area flooding.

"However, with some sand bags, a pump, a hose, some Bow driers and hard work, we got there!

"A great team effort!"
