Motherwell ended their pre-season with a 4-3 loss to KRC Genk.
The match at Fir Park was a thrilling affair, with the hosts taking an early lead. Elijah Just converted a penalty in the 27th minute after Regan Charles-Cook was fouled.
However, Genk's Aaron Bibout quickly equalised with a long-range volley. The Belgian side went ahead just before half-time, with Daan Heymans scoring from an Ayumu Yokoyama delivery.
Bibout then extended Genk's lead early in the second half, finishing from close range. Despite being two goals down, Motherwell continued to press.

Their efforts were rewarded when Mikey Booth headed home from Tom Sparrow's cross in the 75th minute, making it 3-2. But Genk restored their two-goal advantage three minutes later with a header from Brad Manguelle.
Motherwell's youthful side continued to fight and were rewarded when Robbie Hunter made it 4-3 with a late strike. New signings Alex Paulsen, Martin Moormann, and Willy Vogt all featured, with Paulsen making several notable saves.
More than 3,000 supporters were in attendance. Despite the defeat, Motherwell showed promising signs and now focus on their upcoming UEFA Conference League qualifier against Havnar Bóltfelag.
