
Mumbai: Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd on Tuesday said its consolidated net profit for the March quarter rose 12.42% year-on-year due to higher sales.
The consolidated net profit was at Rs.340.10 crore in the March quarter as compared with Rs.302.53 crore a year ago. Bloomberg analysts estimated net profit to be Rs.286.40 crore and net sales to be Rs.8,999.40 crore.
Net sales rose 12.5% from Rs.8,289.01 crore a year ago to Rs.9,321.97 crore.
The company said it will divest its stake in the joint venture, Calsonic Kansei Motherson Auto Products Ltd (formed with its German partner Woco Franz Josef Wolf Holding GmbH) to SMIL at a price determined through fair valuation, in agreement with the partner.
At 12.14pm, Motherson Sumi was trading at Rs.503.75 on BSE, down 1.5% from its previous close, while Sensex fell 1.88% to 26,989.05 points.
