Mothercare closing down sale prices slashed as new discounts are announced

Mothercare has announced further reductions in its closing down sale.

The retailer is closing all 79 stores after going into administration and all stock is discounted.

An email to customers from Mothercare says they are now "emptying the warehouse" and there are further reductions in store now.

The website also has discounts listed but the latest reductions are in store.

All stock - except concessions, milk, food, medicines and third party gift cars - is reduced and everything must go.

The website still has prams, cots and cot beds and baby furniture in stock online.

There are still baby and children's clothes for sale as well as maternity ranges.

Online orders are being processed and delivered as normal, according to an email from the retailer.

Massive queues formed after the announcement the stores were closing as people tried to bag a bargain.

There are Mothercare stores in Culverhouse Cross in Cardiff, at City Link retail park and Parc Tawe in Swansea.

Gift cards are no longer being accepted.

Days after Mothercare announced it was going into administration, Mamas & Papas announced it was also going into administration.

Its unprofitable stores in Aberdeen, Preston, Milton Keynes, Lincoln, Leamington and Fareham have already been closed.

The company, which had 27 stores and three concessions, said its remaining stores will continue to trade as normal, as well as its digital, wholesale and concession arms.
