The mother of a 19-year-old doused in bleach in a 'senseless attack' says her daughter is putting on a 'brave face'. The woman, who asked not to be named, described the horrific incident to the Manchester Evening News.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the incident on Wortley Avenue at around 7pm on Tuesday (February 12) and discovered the teenager had attacked. She had a substance thrown over her, which was later confirmed to be bleach, police said. She suffered minor injuries.

Three teenage girls - two aged 19 and one aged 17 - were arrested on suspicion of assault. They have since been released on bail, the M.E.N. understands.
The mother of the victim said: "She's trying to show a bit of a brave face towards her friends and stuff like that. I've been very vigilant and paranoid, if she goes out I'm making sure I'm going out with her.
"It has affected her massively."
The woman claimed her daughter had to have a head wound treated after her attackers tried to make her swallow bleach. "Luckily, she didn't swallow any of the bleach they were trying to force in her mouth," she added.
"She got her head glued though in the hospital."
A cordon was put in place in the area as forensic officers carried out investigations on Tuesday. One witness said: "It's vile. I've seen some s**t around here, but that's top of it, that is. It was three girls who did it.
"They attacked one girl. I heard the screams, but at first I just thought they were playing. But then I realised they had thrown bleach all over her."
Another resident described the incident as 'absolutely shocking'. On Wednesday (February 22) Chief Inspector Darren Whitehead from GMP’s Salford district, said: "Fortunately this incident has not resulted in more serious consequences, but senseless attacks of this nature have the potential to cause life changing injuries.
"Officers responded quickly to this incident and three females have subsequently been arrested. Enquiries are ongoing."
