Mother's Day crash in Port Talbot leaves three in hospital with serious injuries

A late-night Mother's day crash has left three people in hospital with serious injuries.

The crash happened in Seaway Parade, Baglan, Port Talbot, on Sunday, March 31, at 11.20pm.

An Air Ambulance land crew attended the crash, but the helicopter was not needed.

A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said the crash had, "resulted in serious injuries to several persons involved in the collision.

"The incident involved a black BMW 1 series Coupe and a copper coloured Peugeot 207. "

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision (Google Maps)

She added: "We would like to speak to any witnesses to the collision or persons that may have seen any vehicles matching these descriptions in the area, particularly their manner of driving. 

"If you have any information, please call 101 and quote ref 1900114769."

Woman taken to hospital after car crashes into house  

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We received a call at 11.23pm last night to a road traffic collision in Seaway Parade, Baglan.

"We responded with an air ambulance emergency car, two rapid response vehicles and three emergency ambulances.

"Three patients were conveyed to hospital, one to University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff and the other two to Morriston Hospital, Swansea."

A spokesman for the Air Ambulance Service added: "Medics from the Wales Air Ambulance supported an incident in the Port Talbot area late on Sunday evening. They attended by road in the service’s Twilight Critical Care Car.

"Our critical care consultant and practitioner arrived at the incident at 23.57.

"Following treatment at the scene, our medics escorted one of the patients in a road ambulance to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.

"Our involvement was complete at 1.48."
