A single mother-of-three is offering a room in her home for free - as long as the tenant is also a single parent.
Frances shared the generous listing for a “double room” in her Primrose Hill home on SpareRoom - where she wrote that she is looking for someone to “share” her house with.
According to the post, the mum, who has a nine-year-old and twin four-year-old boys, is hoping for “company, mutual support and to foster a warm, nurturing, proactive and FUN environment in the house in which to raise our children” - rather than just a flatmate.
In addition to a “gorgeous, sunny, newly-furnished large double room and private en-suite bathroom,” the listing also offers the possibility of another room in the house for a child, if it is required.
The house, which is listed in an area where the average price of a home is £1,794,906, is also close by to the tube - with the Swiss Cottage Station just a five to 10 minute walk away.
And the single mum isn't picky about who comes to stay in her home, as the listing states that age, nationality, race, and sexual orientation don’t matter - however, she did specify that parents with children under three should not apply - as it won’t work with the layout of the house.
“Please do not insult me or families in need by contacting me if you don’t have children,” Frances concluded the post.
Since listing her home for free to someone in need in exchange for company, Frances’ gesture has been praised on social media.
“That’s such a kind and sensible idea,” one person wrote.
Another said: “How kind is this gesture. Well done and hope a new friendship is about to be formed.”
For interested parties, all the single mother asks is a £300 deposit - and someone who is okay with cats.
