The mother of a British law student detained in "hellish" conditions in a Dubai jail after being caught with cocaine has set up a new fundraiser.
Mia O'Brien, 21, from Huyton in Merseyside, was recently jailed for life with a minimum 25-year sentence after police uncovered 50g of the drug in her apartment.
Her mother Danielle McKenna previously set up an appeal on GoFundMe, only for the platform to delete it on grounds that it was linked to criminality.
The mother-of-five has now set up a new appeal with funds to go directly into her account, while appearing to take a swipe at GoFundMe, The Sun on Sunday reports.
She said: "I am going to set up my own, as they (GoFundMe)are nitpicking at everything."
Ms McKenna explained that this new appeal would see all cash go directly to her daughter's legal appeal, with no websites taking a cut.

The distraught parent previously revealed how her daughter is an aspiring lawyer who had "never done a bad thing in her life".
However, the family admitted she had made a "very stupid mistake" after she was caught with drugs last October with a UK street value of £2,500.
Ms O'Brien is said to have gone over to the Middle East to visit her friend and her friend's boyfriend, before the apartment they were staying at was raided by police.
All three were charged with drug dealing.
Miss O'Brien pleaded not guilty of intent to supply drugs but was convicted by a judge after a one-day hearing in July, which was said to have been conducted entirely in Arabic.
She was handed a £100,000 fine before being thrown into the notoriously harsh Dubai Central Prison, also known as Al-Awir, which has been compared to Alcatraz.

Her mother told the Daily Mail: "Mia feels she has destroyed her life as she wanted to be a lawyer or solicitor.
"I speak to her but she can't say too much on the phone. She's just made a stupid mistake after going over to see a friend and her boyfriend in Dubai.
"The trial was all in Arabic and Mia was told of the sentence later by her lawyer.
"She is absolutely devastated by what has happened. Mia is being really strong but I know she is going through a living hell."
Miss O'Brien is said to be in touch with her family as much as possible during her jail stint, but is enduring difficult conditions while sharing a cell with six other women.
She reportedly sleeps with just a mattress and a pillow on the floor each night.
