Mother Niomi Spinks and two-week-old daughter found after going missing at night

A mother and her two-week-old child have been found safe after being reported missing from East Lothian.

Niomi Spinks, 18 and Eva were last seen in Wallyford, to the east of Edinburgh, at 6.40pm on Wednesday.

Police launched an appeal to trace them due to "concerns for their welfare" as temperatures dropped to near freezing overnight.

However Police Scotland confirmed they were both found safe and well around midnight.

The force said: "We are pleased to report that 18 year old Niomi Spinks and her daughter Eva, who were reported missing from Edinburgh has been found safe and well.

"Thanks to everyone who shared our appeal."
