TIRUPATI: A 35-year-old mother died by suicide along with her two daughters by jumping into a local water body at Mudigubba in Sri Sathya Sai district of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Sukanya (35), Devayani (10) and Jasmitha (9).
According to the Mudigubba police, Sukanya, married to Gangadhar has been residing at the Teachers colony at Mudigubba mandal headquarters.
The couple were leading a disturbed married life and were having frequent altercations.
Following one such heated argument, Sukanya left home along with her two daughters in a fit of rage jumped into the Mudigubba cheruvu along with her two daughters.
The Mudigubba police who learnt about the death of three belonging to the same family, rushed to the spot and retrieved the bodies of the deceased with the help of the locals and expert swimmers.
Police registered a case and shifted the bodies of the deceased for postmortem. The cops are enquiring into the reasons which led to the suicide of the trio.
