Mother charged over stabbing of son in Sydney's east

Emergency services attended the scene at Bellevue Hill early on Saturday morning.

A woman has been charged after her son was stabbed at Bellevue Hill in Sydney's east this morning.

Emergency services were called to a house on Drumalbyn Road just before 2:00am following reports a man had been stabbed.

A 22-year-old man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to St Vincent's Hospital in a serious condition.

He had suffered wounds to his back, right shoulder and left forearm, a NSW Ambulance spokesman said.

Officers from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A knife was seized at the scene and has been taken for forensic examination.

A 55-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and taken to Waverley Police Station for questioning.

She has since been charged with grievous bodily harm — domestic violence.

She has been refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow.

A spokeswoman for St Vincent’s Hospital said the man was in a stable condition.
