A mother accused of leaving her toddler outside and locking two other children in a garage has pleaded not guilty to child abuse.
The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, previously claimed in court she took two codeine tablets for a headache and woke to police taking her children away.
She pleaded not guilty to child abuse and two counts of unlawful confinement. She has pleaded guilty to two charges of resisting police.
In March this year, the woman's neighbour allegedly jumped the fence to save a toddler she said had been left alone in a backyard with two dogs.
The neighbour said she first tried to notify the mother by knocking on her door and could hear yelling and doors slamming inside the home, but no one answered.
Police said the mother answered the door seeming to be "intoxicated".
She has also been accused of locking her two older children in a converted garage.
Bail conditions mean the woman does not have access to her children.
She is scheduled to re-appear in court on May 21.
