PHETCHABUN: A man complained to police on Tuesday that he had come across a widely shared video clip on Twitter of him and his girlfriend having sex in a downtown motel room.
The man, whose name was withheld, told Muang Phetchabun police the video was taken and circulated without their knowledge and asked that they arrest all those involved.
He had a copy on his mobile phone and showed it to police, saying it he had downloaded it from a private Twitter group.
Station chief Pol Col Srithanont Rueanmul said they had yet to verify the content of the clip and where it was taken. No charges would be laid until details were confirmed.
A representative of a motel had contacted police to deny any involvement with the recording, he said.
Pol Lt Col Sitthinant Sitthikamjon, deputy superintendent of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division, said his division could take action if it was proven the clip was offered for sale on social media.
