Moston rapper Aitch reflects mood of the nation with his England rap

Manchester rapper Aitch has movingly described what it means to be an England football fan ahead of today’s Euro 2020 final.

As England take on Italy in the final held at Wembley Aitch, real name Harrison Armstrong, has reflected the mood of the nation in his rousing rap titled The Final Word.

This is the first time the England men’s team has reached a final since winning the World Cup in 1966 and Aitch has offered a powerful insight into the journey to the historic final.

“Home sweet home/ Made it here through sun and snow/ We took, we grow, we love to moan/ But we can beat the odds, the bookie knows/ Touch the field and shut the globe/ The heart we had, the guts we shown/ We wouldn’t stop, we couldn’t fold/ Three lions came here for the throne,” his track begins.

“From the city centre to country roads/ The spirits strong, the love is shown/ On every road is young and old/ Only thing we hope 'It’s Coming Home.'"

And he concludes:“Through Sunday League, right up to pros/ Using jumpers as footie posts/ The concrete pitch to muddy soles/ It belongs to us, it was put in stone/ We graft for years, it took it’s toll/ The attack was fierce, got stuck in loads/ No man we fear, we took an oath/ To stand and cheer, for what we love the most.”

Aitch hails from New Moston and has remained in Manchester following huge successes that have made him a household name.

Chiming in on a remix of Ed Sheeran's Take Me Back to London alongside grime king Stormzy, Aitch pledged his love for his home city as he rapped 'take me back to Manny'.

And the rapper gave a shout out to his home town of Moston on the track, featuring on his 2020 album Polaris.

Aitch has been one of a few big names in music, including the likes of Bugzy Malone, to divert the music scene's attention from London-based rap to Mancunian alternatives.

Last month he was spotted out and about as he took the cameras back home to Moston,.

He was spotted at his local corner shop, Nuthurst Off License, in Whitecar Avenue, as he filmed a campaign for an energy drink.

He took over as the face of the brand Relentless from Stormzy.
