Most Rams starters, including Goff and Gurley, not traveling to Hawaii

It appears Todd Gurley isn’t the only starter for the Los Angeles Rams staying back and not joining the team in Hawaii. Most of the Rams’ top players won’t make the trip west to the Aloha State for practice Friday and a preseason matchup with the Cowboys on Saturday.

Sean McVay announced Thursday that Aaron Donald and Marcus Peters will be on the flight, but Jared Goff, Gurley and most of the starters won’t go to Hawaii.

For the players staying back, they will work out Friday and practice on Sunday at the team’s facility in Thousand Oaks.

The Rams aren’t expected to play their starters in the preseason, so McVay is simply preventing his players from having to sit through two six-hour flights in a span of a few days. Granted, Goff and Gurley sounded like they wanted to go, but this is a decision made by the coaching staff.
