Most people still confused about election date: Suan Dusit Poll

Most people are still confused about the exact day of the next election and the re-drawing of constituencies, according to the result of a survey by Suan Dusit Rajabhat University, or Suan Dusit Poll.

The poll was conducted on Nov 21-24 on 1,070 people throughout the country to compile their opinions on the next election.

Asked what confuses them most about the next election, tentatively scheduled for Feb 24, 63.96% of the respondents said they are uncertain about the exact date as it has yet to be officially announced, making them worry there might not be an election at all; 30.08% said they are confused about the re-drawing of constituency boundaries; and 29.00% said they are confused by the large number of new political parties with similar names and election candidates switching from one party to another.

Asked what most needs clarification, 47.42% said they want to know the exact election date and the constituency they are eligible to vote in; 24.48% want more information about the candidates and their parties in each constituency; and 20.36% want to know if the prime minister will be democratically elected.
