A beloved grandad has been named as the tragic victim in a collision in Tameside on New Year’s Day.
David Ackers, 74, died after an electric scooter he was riding on collided with two parked cars on Saturday afternoon.
His family said it is thought he was briefly riding on the electric scooter before he lost his balance and fell into the parked cars.

The electric scooter is said to have belonged to a family member.
He died at the scene after suffering a suspected bleed to the brain in the collision.
In a tribute, David’s family said he was the ‘most amazing, most generous’ man.
David had two children - a daughter and a son - as well as four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He would have celebrated his 75th birthday today (December 2).
His family gave permission for the Manchester Evening News to share her touching tribute to David, who his grandchildren nicknamed ‘Garg’.
The tribute said: “My garg, my grandad, my best friend, the most amazing, most generous, caring, selfless man in the world, went out today and had a bad accident.
“My garg died and the hole he has left behind in my heart will never be filled. Garg I love you with all of my heart and you don’t even realise how much your whole family worship and love you.
“You was our families rock, I just can't even come to terms with what’s happened, I just can’t.
“It's not right you should be here celebrating your birthday for tomorrow, laughing and joking like you do everyday!
“Your the most amazing man and I genuinely love you from the bottom of my heart.
“You just can't be gone, what am I going to do without you! Thankyou for being my garg, and my babies garg, me and the boys love you forever and always.
“I will make sure they know how much of an amazing man you was(sic). Till we meet again garg aka my trendy garg. Goodnight garg.”
Greater Manchester Police said they were called to reports of a collision on Springfield Road in Droylsden at around 1.40pm on Saturday (January 1).
A 74-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are continuing to appeal for any information on the incident.
Sergeant Marie Eldred, of GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "Our thoughts remain with the man's family as they come to terms with this incredibly tragic loss.
"This collision happened in the middle of the day so we are hopeful that there are a number of witnesses who may have dash cam or CCTV footage."
