Home insurance costs in Falkirk rose faster than anywhere else in Scotland at 28% in three years, according to Moneysupermarket.com.
The comparison website's league table of combined home and contents annual premiums by postcode area found they increased 25% over the same period in Paisley. That made the town the second highest place to insure in Scotland.
Glasgow remained highest with an average of £150, which ranked 16th highest in the UK.
Paisley's average was £147.57, while Edinburgh's average was £147.17, both having risen faster than Glasgow since 2017. People in Falkirk can expect to pay just under £144, up 28.8% in three years.
London is the UK's most expensive place to insure your home and contents at more than £204, with Belfast fourth at £181.
Scotland as a whole was the UK's fourth most expensive region in the first quarter of this year at £140.75, up 3% year on year.
Kate Devine, head of home insurance at MoneySuperMarket, said: “Home insurance quotes vary across the country thanks to a number of factors, including the risk of flooding, crime rates and even the type of soil.
"While there is a general trend of home insurance costs rising around the country, the good news is that the year-on-year increase is slowing. In 2017 there was a 14.35% increase, followed by 8.5% in 2018. With 2019 seeing only a 2.58% rise, this is good news for consumers."
