The most "dangerous" places to live in England and Wales have been revealed in a league table of areas ranked by risk of being a victim of crime.

Analysis of the the latest government figures reveals where you are most at risk of becoming a victim of crime.

Cleveland sits at the top of the list, closely followed by West Yorkshire and then South Yorkshire.

Northern areas dominate the top five, but North Yorkshire is the safest place to live with the lowest rates of violent offences, the Sun reports.

Devon and Cornwall, Dyfed-Powys, Wiltshire and Surrey were among the least dangerous areas.

See below for the list in full.

A breakdown of crimes showed Londoners suffered the most robberies last year, with 3.8 per 1,000 people.

London also had the most theft offences with 44.2 per a population of 1,000.

The Home Office figures show how many offences were committed across five victim-based crime categories.
