Trips abroad may be off the table for now – but it doesn’t mean we can’t get some much-needed time away.

Ring of Kerry

The Ring of Kerry is one of Ireland’s greatest treasures and the picturesque loop will let you experience Ireland at its wildest – all from your car.
Rugged islands, dramatic mountain passes and white-sand beaches are just a few of the sights you’ll be treated to before experiencing the magic of charming villages dotted the Kingdom.
It can be done in a day but you’ll benefit more from taking it slow, going off the beaten path and savouring the sights.
Dublin Zoo
Dublin Zoo and Phoenix Park are good family friendly trips that will keep the kids entertained – and parents might learn something too!
Further afield, Howth Head and Dun Laoighaire make excellent days out and a chance to clear your head – and lungs – with fresh air too.
If you’re staying overnight there are plenty of hotels and B&B (both in and out of the city) to make your mini vacation that bit more enjoyable.
Belfast
The North’s capital is the perfect getaway, with warm city welcomes and exciting action-packed adventures.
From gorgeous Botanic gardens to the excellent Titantic Museum, you’ll never be stuck for things to do.
Make the city your base as discover gems such as The Gobbins, right, the Giant’s Causeway or the North Antrim coast road.
Cork
The Rebel County is steeped in history and has some of the most beautiful scenery on the island. From Kinsale to Cobh and Schull to Youghal, there’s plenty to do in the heart of Munster.
Tuck into fresh seafood, explore the rugged coastline or just mingle with locals as you learn more about the city.
Galway
Known for friendly folk, great food and even better beer, Galway is perfect for a getaway.
From bustling Eyre Square and Shop Street to scenic Salthill located minutes from the city centre, there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained this city on the Atlantic coast.
Wild Atlantic Way
This 2,500km drive is not for the faint-hearted but will provide fantastic views.
The driving route passes through nine counties and three provinces, stretching from Donegal to Kerry.
Along the route there are 157 discovery points, 1,000 attractions and more than 2,500 activities to do.
