Moscow plane fire: Desperate passengers JUMP from burning jet and run for their lives

Terrifying footage of a plane Moscow plane fire: Thirteen people dead after jet lands in flames at airport at Moscow's major airport has captured passengers fleeing for their lives.

They escaped the furnace feared to have claimed at least 13 lives, with some reports suggesting a flight attendant is among the dead.

The passengers can be seen streaming down an escape slide from the Aeroflot craft's sides as the plane erupts in a massive blaze.

The panicked passengers were rushing to evacuate the burning aircraft as it burst into flames on the runway at Moscow's main international airport.

The SU142 flight from Moscow to Murmansk declared an emergency shortly after takeoff and returned to Sheremetyvo Airport in the Russian capital.

According to RT.com, plane took two attempts to "crash land."

A witness reportedly said: "it is a miracle anyone has survived."

Footage shows the plane landing while still on fire.

Passengers were then filmed fleeing down an emergency slide while flames and smoke engulfed the rear of the craft.

There were reportedly 80 people aboard the flight.

Russian media is reporting at least five people have been injured.

The crashed plane is believed to have given a distress signal before landing at Sheremetyevo, and the connection with it disappeared, a source in the airport services told Interfax.

“The plane gave a distress signal, then [the] traffic control lost communication with it,” said a source.

“It was impossible to contact it.

“It was landing in complete silence.”
